I’m going back to a certain time and place. I feel it would be a great experience to travel to Bethlehem on the day that Jesus was born. I would follow Mary and Joseph as they journey trying to find a place to stay for the night. They were probably arguing non-stop, yelling at each other, and Mary was riding on a donkey the whole time. Joseph also must have been pleading with every single owner of every Inn trying to get a room. Joseph was probably about to fight someone the whole night with how frustrated he was between not being able to find a room, Mary nagging him, and her complaining about her contractions. But finally they found a person who would let them stay in their barn, which was not even a barn, but a cave. At first they probably did not want to even stay in a dirty barn with a bunch of gross animals, especially with Mary about to have her baby. But they decided that it was their best choice since they did not even have a place anywhere in the whole town. Once they got into their barn, or room, they had to find a comfortable spot for Mary to lay down. And once she started to have real bad contractions the animals were probably getting very annoyed with all her screaming, probably not as annoyed as Joseph. When Jesus was starting to be born that would’ve had to been a nasty sight. With all the blood and stuff, trying to clean it all up with hay and straw. And if they animals were very hungry maybe they would’ve tried to eat Jesus. So Mary and Joseph would have to be on full alert so the animals would not eat their new born son.
